“Thanks so much for asking!”
Below you can learn about some practical ways to add value that I’ll appreciate.
These will fit into 3 categories: My Quest for the Best, new business introductions, and recreation (tennis and hiking, primarily).
My Philosophy or Where I’m Coming From
As you may know, my definition of a friend is someone who wants you to succeed and will help.
When I help someone who is not a client with advice, spot coaching, an networking introduction, book or similar recommendation, I’m doing so as a act of friendship. I really do want what I’ve offered to help you be more successful in your business and personal life. Another reason I do this is that I want to live in a world where everybody helps each other, so it only makes sense for me to model this behavior and responsiveness.
I also help to pay it forward asymmetrically rather than transactionally: I offer assistance because I’ve chosen to, not because I want something back. I don’t keep score about who paid for lunch or who sent a holiday gift.
When I ask, “How are you?” or “How can I help?” I really want to know!
Here are some concrete ways you can help with what’s on my radar in Q4 2022:
My Quest for the Best
The podcast for ambitious small business leaders.
Subscribe | Leave a review | Apply to be interviewed
This is not just a side hustle. It is a legacy project for me.
My Quest for the Best has over 400 episodes. Over 90% of podcasts never make it to their 20th episode.
Thousands of business leaders, founders, and rising stars tune in each week and I’d like to see it reach or surpass 100,000 per episode by mid-2025, when I’ll have completed 500 interviews with top published thought leaders.
Practical Steps to Help
- If you haven’t subscribed, go to this page to get notified each week when a new episode is released on iTunes, Audible , Spotify, or wherever you listen.
- If you haven’t left a rating and review on iTunes or Spotify or Audible, that’s a terrific way of helping get the word out. Others read your comments and are more inclined to listen and subscribe themselves.
Here are directions and here is a link to Apple iTunes, where you can leave a reply on your smart phone with your Apple ID.
Most podcasts have fewer than 50 reviews; by the end of 2022, I aim to have more than 200 reviews on iTunes and we are very close to than now in October. - Recommend a published expert. Have you read or know of a published expert you’d like to have featured on the show? Here’s a link to let me know about them.
- Finally, share the word.
If you have a newsletter, tell your audience about a favorite expert, book, tip, or case study that was discussed. Share it on your favorite social media channel and tag me (@BillRingle) so I can repost it and reply. We can get a little back-and-forth going!
If you have a blog, write an article or add My Quest for the Best to your list of favorite podcasts. As one of my mentors used to say, “If you don’t toot your own horn, you may miss out on the music!”
Business Introductions
My work focus is to help leaders of growth companies become great people managers who are capable of scaling their companies.
Shoot me a note on LinkedIn to discuss someone you’d like to have me contact who could benefit from the work I do.
Fun Hikes and Tennis Adventures
I’ve been to the US Open more than 30 times. The Australian Open and Wimbledon trips were highlights.
Next up is the French Open in 2023.
Favorite tournaments include the
- Delray Beach Open in February
- BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells in March
- CitiOpen in DC in August
LMK if you’re attending a tournament also, and we can get together to watch a match and catch up.
When I’m traveling, I love to go for a nature hike, any time of year.
Around the Philadelphia tri-state area, we have dozens of terrific trails to explore. At the top of this page, I’m on the NJ side of the Delaware River water gap. It’s only a 5 mile trail, but the elevation can make it seem more like rock climbing!
Contact me if you have a tennis tip or hiking suggestion, recommendation, or question.
